Electrical Engineer Internship 2027 – Dublin Hybrid

Join Ethos Engineering as an electrical engineering intern rotating through consultancy teams and contributing to data-centre, energy infrastructure, and building-services projects. Gain practical experience supporting sustainable electrical design on live client work.

Description

  • Rotate through teams within the Engineering Studio
  • Help design, analyse, and document electrical systems for building projects, covering power distribution, lighting, life-safety, and low-voltage systems
  • Work with colleagues across multiple building-services disciplines
  • Research technical topics and analyse findings to inform engineering decisions
  • Prepare technical drawings, reports, and design records using standard industry tools
  • Support quality reviews against CIBSE, IEC, BS, IS, and EN standards
  • Take part in project meetings, training, and workshops
  • Visit project sites to observe installations, inspections, and commissioning
  • Suggest sustainable, energy-efficient approaches to electrical design
  • Participate in client discussions and learn about engineering consultancy
  • Contribute to live client projects with guidance from senior engineers and a dedicated buddy

Requirements

  • Be enrolled in an Electrical Engineering degree or a related programme
  • Demonstrate strong academic results in relevant subjects
  • Be based in Ireland
  • Attend the Dublin office three days each week
  • Prior placement or project experience in building services is useful but not essential
  • Show enthusiasm for learning
  • Bring strong problem-solving ability and close attention to detail
  • Communicate effectively in writing and conversation
  • Adapt comfortably across several engineering disciplines
  • Have a strong interest in a building-services engineering career
