Electrical Design Engineer – Remote in Serbia

Design electrical and MEP systems for Utopia’s luxury villas and boutique hotels. Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and deliver engineering solutions using Revit and AutoCAD.

Description

  • Design and oversee MEP systems for luxury villas and hotels while meeting local codes and high-end industry standards.
  • Coordinate with architects, interior designers, and engineers to integrate building systems into each project.
  • Coordinate spatially with architectural and structural models while researching efficient methods, equipment, and systems.
  • Identify and resolve technical challenges throughout the design phase.
  • Lead technical drawing and specification development in CAD and Revit with support from BIM modelers.
  • Complete load calculations, energy models, and system sizing.
  • Select equipment based on project requirements and sustainability objectives.
  • Contribute technical input to value engineering evaluations.
  • Oversee design development and review and approve deliverables from external designers, consultants, and surveyors.
  • Monitor technologies, industry developments, and regulations affecting power supply and distribution in luxury hospitality.
  • Work independently, coordinate with colleagues as needed, and provide weekly intermediate deliverables.
  • Report to the MEP Design Manager while collaborating with architects, interior designers, structural engineers, FF&E procurement, and client representatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, or Building Engineering, focused on electrical systems, power supply, and generation.
  • Five to 10 years of engineering design experience with a design consultancy or general contractor.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering high-end hospitality projects, including five-star hotels and luxury private villas.
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities.
  • Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Professional written and spoken English.
  • Spanish language skills are advantageous.
  • Experience working with international hotel chains such as W, Four Seasons, or AMAN and their corporate design guidelines is advantageous.
