EEE Component Hardware Engineer – Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid)

Hardware engineer responsible for selecting, qualifying, and assessing electronic components for high-reliability aerospace applications at Honeywell Aerospace Technologies. The role supports hardware design, validation, failure analysis, supplier evaluations, and component compliance.

Description

  • Lead the hardware design process from requirements through implementation
  • Define hardware requirements and develop complex hardware systems
  • Partner with engineering teams to select EEE components for high-reliability applications
  • Contribute to EEE component selection and validation activities
  • Investigate failures involving EEE components
  • Assess parts and review component specifications
  • Create screening and qualification specifications for EEE components
  • Report non-compliance incidents to the appropriate stakeholders
  • Apply engineering tools to assess parts and analyze obsolescence risks
  • Complete design and testing tasks that satisfy customer specifications
  • Identify technical improvement opportunities using engineering principles
  • Lead design teams and work with suppliers to evaluate component performance

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical field such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics
  • Experience designing, developing, or manufacturing electronic hardware, or working in component engineering or a related field
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and hardware component engineering tools
  • U.S. citizenship required to comply with U.S. export control laws and regulations
  • Familiarity with component engineering tools, military specifications, and EEE component standards
  • Technical knowledge of EEE part categories and their specifications
  • Understanding of EEE part construction physics, including die materials, substrates, and packages
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision and contribute effectively to a collaborative team
  • Ability to work across engineering functions
  • Ability to assess and recommend technical solutions based on accepted engineering practices
