Editor-in-Chief, Advanced Computing

Set the scholarly direction and lead peer review for Wiley’s Advanced Computing journal. Advance research quality, open science, and collaboration across global computing communities.

Description

  • Lead the scholarly strategy and vision for Advanced Computing.
  • Set and update the journal’s scope, priorities, and special issues.
  • Build a diverse editorial board.
  • Manage peer review, manuscript decisions, and review timelines.
  • Uphold methodological rigor, reproducibility, and research ethics.
  • Build relationships with international research communities, industry, and policy stakeholders.
  • Promote open science, artifact evaluation, and responsible AI.

Requirements

  • Doctorate in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Information Science with a strong computer science focus, or a related field.
  • Preferred expertise in at least two areas: theoretical computer science and algorithms; software engineering and programming languages; systems and networks; artificial intelligence, data science, or human-computer interaction; security, privacy, and cryptography; or emerging fields such as quantum, neuromorphic, or biocomputing.
  • Substantial publication record in leading computer science venues.
  • Editorial background, ideally as a Deputy Editor or Editor-in-Chief; Associate Editors, Program Chairs, and candidates with similar experience will also be considered.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead distributed teams and make decisions promptly.
  • Familiarity with fairness, transparency, and privacy standards.
  • Evidence of collaboration across multiple computer science disciplines.
  • Strong technical knowledge spanning major areas of computer science.
  • Commitment to reproducibility and open science.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and global inclusion.
  • Knowledge of editorial workflows and systems.
