Economic Policy Program Fall Intern

Fall intern supporting BPC’s Economic Policy Program through research on federal budgets, tax policy, and retirement security. Contributes to policy writing, congressional monitoring, and event support.

Description

  • Research and write background material for ongoing policy projects and papers
  • Prepare blog content
  • Help staff respond to congressional and media inquiries
  • Track significant congressional developments
  • Review and analyze budget documents
  • Record notes during congressional hearings and external events
  • Assist with event coordination, program administration, and related tasks
  • Collaborate with policy experts across the Economic Policy Program
  • Report to the program manager

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled undergraduate students at the rising-junior level or above, enrolled graduate students, or graduates from the past 12 months
  • Enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program, or graduation within the past 12 months, is required
  • Non-U.S. citizens must hold a valid work permit or visa authorizing employment in the United States
  • BPC does not provide visa sponsorship
  • Demonstrated research and writing ability
  • Clear and effective communication skills
  • Interest in fiscal and economic policy, including tax policy, retirement savings, or federal budget policy
  • Strong research and data analysis capabilities
  • Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Suite proficiency preferred
  • Application must include a resume, cover letter, three- to five-page writing sample, college or university transcript, and a brief response to “What does bipartisanship mean to you?”
