Director of Finance, Philippines (Remote)

Description
- Own the company’s finance, accounting, payroll, and compliance functions
- Manage bookkeeping, reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning
- Create financial models, dashboards, and executive reporting packages
- Support fundraising, investor readiness, and due diligence activities
- Strengthen financial systems, controls, and operating processes
- Coordinate tax filings, payroll administration, and compliance with external partners
- Assess and implement automation, AI tools, and finance technology solutions
- Support international expansion and planning across multiple locations
- Deliver actionable financial analysis and recommendations to leadership
- Report to the COO as a key financial partner to the leadership team
- Complete a practical task during the technical interview
Requirements
- Proven accounting, controllership, and financial management experience in a fast-paced setting
- Experience building or enhancing financial systems and operational processes
- Background supporting fundraising, investor reporting, due diligence, or capital raises in a startup, agency, nonprofit, or growth-stage organization
- Strong capabilities in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting
- Practical experience managing payroll, tax coordination, and compliance workflows
- Experience partnering directly with founders, executives, or senior leadership
- Advanced analytical, financial modeling, and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational ability
- Experience working in startups, agencies, or rapidly expanding businesses
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proven use of AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, and workflow automation platforms to improve reporting, analysis, documentation, and operational efficiency
- Experience supporting fundraising initiatives worth multiple millions of dollars or investor-backed growth
- Experience in creative agencies, media, content production, experiential marketing, live events, or creator economy businesses
- Experience working with globally distributed teams and international operations
- Experience implementing finance, payroll, or HR systems
- Familiarity with SaaS, MarTech, or technology-enabled service companies
- Experience assessing and deploying modern finance technology stacks
- Experience in NGO or nonprofit fundraising finance
- Reliable computer, high-speed internet, and a quiet, dedicated workspace for remote work
- Current residence in the Philippines and legal authorization to work there
