Data Scientist Level 3 – Los Angeles, Onsite

Use statistical modeling, SQL, programming, and AI tools to generate product insights for Snap. Shape metrics, dashboards, and data-informed decisions across Snapchat teams.

Description

  • Deliver actionable insights through quantitative analysis, data mining, and statistical modeling
  • Support timely decisions that improve product development, execution, and adoption
  • Partner with product managers, engineers, product marketers, and designers
  • Apply AI tools to build scalable data solutions while preserving accuracy and statistical rigor
  • Use data modeling to uncover product trends and identify new opportunities
  • Evaluate product performance against core metrics
  • Present findings through visualizations, dashboards, and reports

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, economics, computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • At least one year of post-bachelor’s experience in quantitative analysis and data science, or a master’s degree in a technical field
  • At least one year of experience using SQL or a comparable big-data query language
  • At least one year of programming experience with Python, R, or a similar language
  • At least one year of experience applying statistical methods such as inference, causal analysis, A/B testing, or statistical modeling
  • Ability to define, implement, and monitor core metrics
  • Ability to produce visualizations, dashboards, and reports
  • Working knowledge of Snapchat and a strong understanding of product development
  • Ability to learn and apply evolving AI systems and tools
  • Track record of initiating projects and completing them with limited guidance
  • Experience working with engineers, product managers, and other cross-functional partners
