Customs Entry Writer - Mineola, NY (Onsite)

Prepare import customs entries, HTS classifications, and ISF filings for LOGISTEED America in an onsite Mineola role. Support compliant customs brokerage and international freight operations.

Description

  • Prepare customs entries for imported shipments
  • Classify commodities under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS)
  • Prepare, transmit, and track Importer Security Filings (ISF)
  • Verify shipping documents for accuracy and regulatory compliance
  • Coordinate with customers, carriers, Customs officials, and government agencies
  • Keep shipment records accurate in CargoWise and related systems
  • Investigate and resolve shipment discrepancies, clearance delays, and documentation issues
  • Assist with brokerage invoicing and related administrative work
  • Collaborate with logistics professionals supporting international trade and supply chain operations

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least two years of experience in customs brokerage, freight forwarding, import operations, or customs entry writing
  • Knowledge of customs entry preparation and import clearance procedures
  • Experience with HTS classification and tariff application
  • Knowledge of Importer Security Filing (ISF) requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational ability
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • CargoWise One experience preferred
  • Experience in a customs brokerage or freight forwarding environment preferred
  • Knowledge of Participating Government Agency (PGA) requirements preferred
  • Experience with commodity classification and tariff application preferred
  • Experience handling metal commodities preferred
