Compression Systems Engineer Co-Op, Structures Engineering — RTX, Aguadilla (Hybrid)

Entry-level aerospace co-op role supporting compressor structural analysis with hand calculations and 2D and 3D finite element modeling. Contribute to RTX commercial and military engine design, manufacturing support, and field investigations.

Description

  • Perform structural analysis using hand calculations, 2D and 3D finite element models, P&W Engineering Standard Work, analytical tools, and engineering judgment
  • Provide analysis and technical support throughout all design phases
  • Assist with manufacturing and operational support activities
  • Complete strength, stress and deflection, vibration, fatigue life, residual life, damage tolerance, containment, kinematic, and optimization analyses
  • Contribute to production and in-service field investigations
  • Record analysis work and communicate findings, recommendations, and results to integrated product teams, managers, and customers
  • Serve as the structures focal within multidisciplinary integrated product teams
  • Develop design solutions that balance customer performance, cost, schedule, and other requirements
  • Join Compression Systems Engineering, supporting fans and low- and high-pressure compressors for commercial and military engines

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • Must be living in Puerto Rico when employment begins
  • Relocation assistance is not available
  • English proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking is required for communication with English-only customers, colleagues, or supervisors
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are preferred
  • A consistent record of collaboration, innovation, and initiative is preferred
  • Interest in learning about and building a career in aviation and aerospace is preferred
  • Creative problem-solving ability and adaptability are preferred
  • Willingness to learn, contribute, and share knowledge is preferred
