Commercial Finance Manager - Leeds (Hybrid)

Description

  • Support leaders across Farnell with commercial finance analysis, including P&L forecasting, investment appraisal, scenario planning, budgeting and cost analysis.
  • Build financial forecasts, models and business cases to support strategic and operational decisions.
  • Analyse return on investment, working capital, depreciation, investment performance and regulatory effects.
  • Collect, interpret and summarise data for financial plans, acquisitions, future requirements and operating forecasts.
  • Work with regional accounting teams during month-end close to assess, challenge and explain financial performance.
  • Deliver recurring and ad-hoc reporting with trend analysis, forecasts, narrative commentary, bridge analysis and what-if scenarios.
  • Manage the preparation and distribution of accurate, reliable financial reports.
  • Work with management to establish, monitor and communicate key performance indicators.
  • Help develop, prepare and present short- and long-term financial plans, including operating expense budgets for global functions.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor by providing insight, constructive challenge and recommendations on complex financial matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Typically 8 or more years of experience in business partnering, FP&A or a comparable finance role.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP.
  • Experience using complex accounting and financial systems.
  • Ability to advise management as a subject matter expert on complex financial and commercial issues.
  • Strong capability in financial modelling, forecasting and data interpretation.
  • Ability to work independently, assess alternatives using sound judgement and make recommendations.
  • Ability to turn complex financial information into clear, actionable guidance for senior non-Finance stakeholders.
  • Experience influencing stakeholders and helping improve policies, processes and reporting.
