Clinical Research Financial Analyst I/II/III – Springdale Onsite

Manage budgets, grants, billing, and financial reporting for UAMS healthcare innovation research programs. Support compliance, research teams, and financial decision-making in Northwest Arkansas.

Description

  • Oversee accounting and financial analysis for research-funded projects
  • Produce accurate financial reports that promote transparency and accountability
  • Develop and administer budgets, contracts, billing, invoices, and accounts
  • Partner with research teams to deliver financial guidance and inform decisions
  • Manage multiple federally funded budgets in accordance with award requirements
  • Track project expenditures and revenue
  • Coordinate financial activities with Grants Accounting, OSPAN, and ORSP
  • Close accounts and resolve agency invoices and payments
  • Extract, interpret, and analyze financial data
  • Prepare financial reports for investigators and organizational leadership
  • Enhance financial standard operating procedures and identify process improvements
  • Maintain financial-service processes and tools throughout the project lifecycle
  • Work with research staff to support efficient and coordinated workflows
  • Provide professional and confidential assistance to internal and external stakeholders
  • Apply patient- and program-centered care principles
  • Complete other duties that support the mission of UAMS ICHI

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, including auditing, finance, or accounting, healthcare administration, science, nursing, or a related field; alternatively, a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent formal education with five years of related experience
  • At least one year of experience in billing, accounting, finance, budgeting, financial analysis, or a related area
  • Level I: At least one year of experience in billing, accounting, finance, budgeting, financial analysis, or a related area
  • Level II: Three to five years of experience in billing, accounting, finance, budgeting, financial analysis, or a related area, plus at least one year of clinical research pre- or post-contract funding experience and/or at least one year of grant experience
  • Level III (Senior): Bachelor’s degree, at least five years of experience in billing, accounting, finance, budgeting, financial analysis, or a related area, and at least three years of clinical research pre- or post-contract funding experience and/or at least three years of grant experience
  • Demonstrated analytical ability
  • Proficiency with financial software and related tools
  • Thorough knowledge of federally funded grant awards and associated financial terminology
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Careful attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
  • Documentation establishing legal authorization to work in the United States on the first day of employment
  • Successful completion of required pre-employment screening, potentially including criminal background checks, drug testing, and education verification
