Civil Engineering Intern – Rosedale, MD (Onsite)

Support bridge and waterfront infrastructure projects through field inspections, engineering analysis, reporting, and design work. Work under the guidance of senior engineers at Marine Solutions.

Description

  • Support assigned engineering tasks and projects
  • Prepare for and carry out field inspections under senior engineering supervision
  • Complete data reduction, reporting, engineering analysis, and design work
  • Draft reports, studies, and associated technical documents
  • Join technical review meetings with engineering and planning teams
  • Evaluate engineering plans, reports, studies, and related documentation
  • Work under the supervision of a Project Engineer or more senior staff
  • Keep engineering knowledge current through professional organizations and related activities
  • Follow all required safety, health, and environmental procedures

Requirements

  • Motivated civil engineering student pursuing professional development
  • Apply advanced mathematics, including trigonometry, algebra, geometry, and calculus, to surveying and engineering calculations
  • Relevant experience ranging from 0 to 4 years
  • Awareness of current engineering literature, trends, and developments
  • Understanding of construction methods involving concrete, steel, carpentry, and welding
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills
  • Ability to define problems, gather and interpret data, assess facts, reach sound conclusions, and communicate findings effectively
  • Strong organizational abilities and efficient task management skills
  • Self-directed and able to work independently whenever possible
  • Current medical certifications in bloodborne pathogens, first aid, CPR, and emergency oxygen administration when performing fieldwork
  • Authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship
  • Willing to travel within the continental United States as needed
