Business Intelligence Architect Remote United States

Nymbus is seeking a Business Intelligence Architect to lead a financial institution client’s migration from SQL Server, SSIS, and SSRS to Snowflake and Sigma. The role combines data warehouse architecture, ETL modernization, reporting migration, and stakeholder coordination.

Description

  • Own the data warehouse and reporting transformation for a financial institution client
  • Support the current SQL Server data warehouse and reporting environment
  • Design, develop, and migrate data models, ETL pipelines, and reports to Snowflake and Sigma
  • Lead the technical architecture for transitioning SQL Server, SSIS, and SSRS to Snowflake and Sigma
  • Define target-state data models in Snowflake
  • Convert SSIS workflows into Snowflake-native ingestion and transformation pipelines
  • Recreate SSRS reports and dashboards in Sigma, verifying accuracy and functional parity
  • Maintain source-to-target mappings for integrations and report outputs
  • Plan and coordinate migration stages, cutovers, and parallel-run validation
  • Develop and document ETL flows with SSIS, PowerShell, PowerPoint, Visio, and T-SQL
  • Build and administer SSRS reports, dashboards, and agents
  • Report migration risks, technical issues, and progress to internal teams and client stakeholders
  • Provide support for upgrades and migration activities outside standard hours when required
  • Contribute to peer reviews, requirements analysis, troubleshooting, and project delivery
  • Investigate data discrepancies, anomalies, and scripting defects while applying performance improvements
  • Monitor, communicate, and resolve issues reported by end users
  • Complete annual compliance training and follow bank, federal, and state regulations

Requirements

  • Bring 5–8 years of relevant professional experience
  • Have 3–5 years of experience in a traditional financial institution, such as a bank or credit union
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and a consistent focus on data accuracy and output quality
  • Understand statistics, finance, and retail and commercial banking concepts
  • Stay informed about analytics and data-platform developments, including cloud data warehouses and modern BI tools
  • Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences, verbally and in writing
  • Produce project documentation such as source-to-target mappings and migration plans
  • Manage competing project schedules effectively through strong time-management skills
  • Work proficiently with Microsoft development and Office tools
  • Understand application development, database and system or application design, and legacy and web-based systems and interfaces
  • Have experience with SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS
  • Have experience with Snowflake and Sigma
  • Be familiar with Visio and Lucid
  • Have used data-modeling tools such as Sparx, Oxygen, Altova, Erwin, SQL Developer, or SQL Data Modeler
  • Have experience with Sigma, Tableau, Power BI, SSRS, or SSIS reporting and integration frameworks
  • Have Visual Studio VB and/or C# development experience across web, WinForm, services, API, and WebAPI applications
  • Be legally authorized to work in the country where the position is based
