Business Intelligence Analyst (Hybrid)

Barnes & Thornburg LLP is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to organize competitive intelligence and support business development. The role focuses on dashboards, market analysis, alerts, and actionable insights for firmwide decision-making.

Description

  • Gather, organize, and maintain business intelligence covering experience, relationships, rankings, credentials, industry trends, and market whitespace
  • Develop consistent processes for collecting and maintaining intelligence across firm systems and platforms
  • Work with internal stakeholders to keep intelligence current, accessible, and useful for marketing, client development, and strategic initiatives
  • Perform competitive research and market trend analysis to support business development and practice planning
  • Build dashboards, profiles, and reports that translate intelligence into insights for firm, practice group, and client team decisions
  • Create and manage news and litigation alerts for clients, prospects, and strategically important industries
  • Support cross-practice and firmwide initiatives that improve competitive positioning and market responsiveness

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business, economics, marketing, information science, or a related discipline
  • At least three years of experience in competitive intelligence, knowledge management, market research, business analysis, or business development, preferably within a law firm, consulting, or professional services setting
  • Strong capabilities in analysis, research, and data management
  • Skill in drawing useful conclusions from complex datasets
  • Working knowledge of client relationship mapping, rankings and credential tracking, and market opportunity analysis
  • Familiarity with CRM and experience databases used in the legal industry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to turn complex research into concise, actionable summaries
  • Strong attention to detail and project management ability
  • Capacity to balance multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Proactive, self-directed, and collaborative working style
