Backend Software Engineer (.NET) – Prague Hybrid

Build Vendavo’s event-sourced Enterprise CPQ platform as a backend .NET engineer. Develop AWS services, GraphQL APIs, and AI-assisted software for manufacturers and distributors worldwide.

Description

  • Develop and enhance event-sourced services with .NET 10 and ASP.NET Core
  • Deploy applications to AWS EKS through an Istio service mesh
  • Create aggregates, commands, events, and read-model projections with Marten and Wolverine
  • Deliver vertical slices spanning event models, backend handlers, projections, GraphQL APIs, and React interfaces
  • Develop Hot Chocolate GraphQL APIs with filtering, sorting, pagination, and multi-tenant request processing
  • Use AWS Kinesis and Amazon MSK (Kafka) to integrate services across the platform
  • Design message handlers that are idempotent and safe to replay
  • Document event models in draw.io and contribute to modelling workshops
  • Manage infrastructure and delivery workflows with Terraform, Helm, and Azure DevOps pipelines
  • Apply AI coding agents during development and contribute to AI-supported pull request reviews
  • Support the React 18 and TypeScript frontend when delivery requires full-stack contributions
  • Create tests, add service instrumentation, and take part in code and architecture reviews
  • Modernize the CPQ and Pricepoint products by transferring business logic from SQL Server stored procedures into .NET

Requirements

  • At least three years of backend development experience with modern .NET, version 6 or later
  • Working knowledge of Domain-Driven Design and CQRS
  • Interest in developing expertise with event sourcing, projections, eventual consistency, and idempotent handlers
  • Comfort writing asynchronous, message-driven code involving queues, streams, retries, and out-of-order delivery
  • Strong SQL and relational data-modelling skills; PostgreSQL experience is preferred
  • Experience developing HTTP or GraphQL APIs
  • Experience with Docker and practical familiarity with Kubernetes
  • Experience with a major cloud platform, preferably AWS, including IAM, S3, EKS, and Secrets Manager
  • CI/CD pipeline experience, preferably with Azure DevOps
  • Experience with Git-based workflows, pull request reviews, and required quality checks
  • Testing experience with xUnit and integration tests using real dependencies
  • Regular practical use of an AI coding agent such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or an equivalent tool
  • Ability to assess AI-generated code critically, including detecting invented APIs, behavioral changes, and overlooked edge cases
  • Willingness to maintain AI-agent context files such as CLAUDE.md or AGENTS.md
  • End-to-end ownership of code after it is merged
  • English ability is supported through weekly classes, but fluency is not explicitly required
