Backend Software Engineer (Go) — Remote at Mirantis

Build backend services in Go for Mirantis’ multi-tenant k0rdent AI platform. Develop APIs, orchestration, authorization, and reliable cloud-native infrastructure services.

Description

  • Develop Go microservices for the multi-tenant k0rdent AI platform
  • Design database schemas and create migrations
  • Create public REST APIs with OpenAPI and SDKs for multiple languages
  • Build durable Temporal workflows with idempotency, retries, timeouts, and deterministic execution
  • Develop event-driven asynchronous communication with distributed streaming or message-broker systems
  • Implement OIDC/JWT authentication, service-to-service security, tenant-scoped RBAC, gateway routing, and rate limiting
  • Support SCIM-based provisioning for users and groups
  • Align platform API permissions with Kubernetes-native RBAC
  • Create unit, integration, and end-to-end tests for every change
  • Add structured logs, metrics, and audit trails to production services
  • Package and deploy services using Docker, Helm, and Kubernetes
  • Review code and investigate incidents through root cause, including regression coverage
  • Work with engineering teams across the US, Europe, and India in an agile environment
  • Deliver features end to end across API contracts, services, schemas, orchestration, testing, and packaging

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated ability
  • Strong computer science foundations covering data structures, algorithms, concurrency, networking, HTTP, and databases
  • Four to five years of professional software engineering experience
  • At least two to three years developing production backend services in Go; four or more years is preferred
  • Proficiency with Go concurrency, context propagation, error wrapping, and standard-library HTTP routing in Go 1.22 or later
  • Experience developing and releasing versioned, backward-compatible REST APIs
  • Working knowledge of relational databases, including schema design, migrations, transactions, and query optimization
  • Consistent unit and integration testing practices, code review experience, and CI/CD familiarity with GitHub Actions or an equivalent
  • Strong written English for design documentation, code review feedback, and asynchronous communication
  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • Ability to investigate independently, experiment, and understand unfamiliar source code
  • A completed project that can be explained in depth
  • Openness to detailed code review and constructive feedback
  • Ability to describe how code quality and correctness are validated
  • Experience with multi-tenant SaaS or PaaS, k0s, GPU infrastructure, AI/ML workload scheduling, SCIM, Kubernetes RBAC, sqlc, OpenAPI code generation, observability, Python, TypeScript, security engineering, or CNCF projects is advantageous but optional
