Description

  • Build and maintain RESTful APIs that support seamless customer integrations.
  • Design APIs for scalability, security, and alignment with engineering best practices.
  • Reduce technical debt while improving architecture, system stability, and performance.
  • Contribute to code reviews and share knowledge across the team.
  • Use and champion effective engineering practices and design patterns.
  • Own small features from initial concept and design through implementation and release.
  • Engage in Megaport’s agile development process and help drive continuous engineering improvement.
  • Take ownership of products and resolve technical issues for internal and external users.

Requirements

  • At least three years of Java software development experience, including object-oriented design and design patterns.
  • Experience developing services and tools for web applications.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability.
  • Skilled in data modelling and relational databases with SQL; Hibernate experience is preferred.
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills.
  • Ability to reason logically, ask appropriate questions, and explain technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Bonus: experience with networking technologies such as IP routing or MPLS.
  • Bonus: experience with cloud infrastructure including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Bonus: experience with Kotlin, JavaScript, or Python.
  • Familiarity with Spring; the primary codebase uses Java and Spring MVC while migrating to Kotlin and Spring Boot.
