Auto Claims Representative

Process auto and general liability property damage claims for Sedgwick, evaluating losses, negotiating settlements, and guiding claims toward resolution.

Description

  • Review and process auto and general liability property damage claims
  • Evaluate damage, issue payments, and keep claim files accurately documented and policy-coded
  • Create and maintain action plans to meet state contract deadlines and advance claims toward timely, appropriate resolution
  • Identify subrogation opportunities and manage salvage recovery and disposal
  • Explain claim activity and processing to insureds, clients, agents, and brokers as appropriate
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with clients
  • Analyze coverage, liability, and damage for assigned claims
  • Contribute to the organization’s quality initiatives
  • Complete other assigned duties
  • Travel as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred
  • Obtain and maintain the state adjusting licenses required for the position
  • Understanding of personal and commercial lines policies and endorsements
  • Ability to review property damage estimates, total-loss evaluations, and related expenses to negotiate first- and third-party claims effectively
  • Knowledge of total-loss processing, state salvage forms, and title requirements preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation ability
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office products
  • Strong analytical and interpretive abilities
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment
  • Ability to meet or exceed service expectations
  • Ability to satisfy the physical, auditory/visual, and mental requirements of the work environment
