Associate Investment Operations Analyst (Hybrid)

Support investment operations for SS&C Technologies through reconciliations, trade lifecycle monitoring, and client service. This hybrid role supports institutional and insurance portfolios across multiple asset classes.

Description

  • Support daily operations for institutional and insurance investment portfolios across equities, fixed income, derivatives, mortgage-backed securities, bank loans, repos, and private investments
  • Reconcile cash, positions, transactions, and market values across client records, custodians, prime brokers, and counterparties
  • Research discrepancies, resolve reconciliation breaks, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Monitor trade capture, confirmation, settlement, and exception-management activities
  • Track and process corporate actions and associated operational tasks
  • Monitor failed trades and coordinate with counterparties and custodians to support timely settlement
  • Process wires, settlements, collateral movements, and other cash-related transactions
  • Maintain client relationships and respond to operational inquiries
  • Support client onboarding, account setup, and process implementation activities
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Data Management, Technology, Product, and Client Service teams
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, automation, and controls
  • Contribute to special projects, process improvements, testing initiatives, and ad hoc requests
  • Document procedures and help strengthen team workflows and operational controls

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, mathematics, or a related discipline
  • Internship, co-op, or relevant experience in financial services, operations, accounting, or client service is preferred but not required
  • Strong analytical ability and practical problem-solving skills
  • Careful attention to detail with a consistent focus on accuracy
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Willingness to learn financial products, investment operations, and capital markets
  • Knowledge of financial markets, investments, or investment operations gained through coursework, internships, or prior experience
  • Experience handling large datasets and completing reconciliations
  • Curiosity, initiative, and an interest in continuous improvement
  • Ability to take ownership of work and operate independently when necessary
  • Interest in building a long-term career in investment operations, accounting, or financial services
