Associate Civil Engineer

Support PacRim Engineering’s civil engineering projects for public and private-sector clients. Develop site, utility, drainage, transportation, and construction documentation under project management guidance.

Description

  • Perform civil engineering assignments under a project manager’s direct supervision
  • Produce engineering studies and site investigation reports
  • Develop land development designs
  • Prepare Bases of Design (BOD)
  • Produce complete plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E)
  • Write engineering reports and develop cost estimates
  • Assist with construction support activities
  • Help project managers supervise teams and deliver project work
  • Design sites for buildings and parking facilities
  • Develop street improvement plans
  • Design pavement rehabilitation projects
  • Prepare preliminary and detailed grading plans
  • Complete stormwater designs and drainage calculations
  • Design potable and reclaimed water systems
  • Design sewer pipelines
  • Develop flood control improvements
  • Design freeway and interchange improvements
  • Draft technical specifications
  • Coordinate utility systems
  • Process project permits
  • Assist with construction activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited ABET college is required
  • Three to five years of civil engineering experience
  • California EIT license preferred
  • Team leadership capability
  • Familiarity with public works and Department of Defense agency processes preferred
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Bluebeam
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prepare engineering reports with guidance from a project manager or senior professional
  • Experience working with DoD agencies such as the Navy is a plus
  • Willingness and ability to commute to the office
  • Completed bachelor’s degree required
