Assistant Director, Corporate and Employer Engagement

Build corporate partnerships for Cornell Duffield Engineering across research, recruitment, and innovation. Coordinate faculty meetings, proposals, events, and employer relationships.

Description

  • Develop strategies to engage corporate partners with Cornell Duffield Engineering.
  • Coordinate and support meetings between faculty and corporate contacts.
  • Track corporate trends, interests, and opportunities that match faculty strengths.
  • Maintain customer relationship management records.
  • Prepare background materials, briefings, and presentations for partner meetings.
  • Support partnerships across research, innovation, and career functions.
  • Work with University Foundation Relations, Corporate Philanthropy, and research, innovation, and career development teams.
  • Help coordinate events, campus visits, and communications that showcase engagement opportunities.
  • Support relationship management, proposal development, corporate outreach, and engagement metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 3–5 years of experience in business development, corporate outreach, public relations, or a related area; equivalent experience is also accepted.
  • Strong group facilitation, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Experience proactively developing corporate or university partnerships is highly desirable.
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical, scientific, and educational activities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and write proposals that lead to action.
  • Collaborative and self-directed approach to work.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and projects effectively.
  • Cover letter and resume required.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work.
