Art Director, Ecommerce Creative - Hybrid California

Lead visual identity and digital creative for PlanetArt’s personalized product brands. Direct designers, campaigns, and customer-facing experiences across ecommerce, email, social, advertising, and marketplaces.

Description

  • Own the creative vision and visual identity for Personal Creations in the US and UK, Gifts.com, Amazon brands, and Etsy storefronts
  • Define, refine, and uphold brand standards while guiding internal and external creative partners
  • Manage digital assets spanning email, social media, digital advertising, Amazon content, product imagery, video, and ecommerce experiences
  • Build seasonal creative plans, promotional campaigns, and content calendars with Marketing and Merchandising
  • Guide photography and video concepts in partnership with production vendors
  • Use customer insights, performance data, and industry trends to improve creative results and engagement
  • Create scalable templates, design systems, and reusable creative assets
  • Work with the Creative Director on new concepts and broader creative initiatives
  • Design and oversee work for websites, landing pages, email, social, digital advertising, and ecommerce
  • Run A/B tests and improve user experiences using performance insights
  • Develop concepts for campaigns, product launches, photography, video, and emerging channels
  • Provide hands-on design support for high-priority and high-visibility initiatives
  • Use the company’s proprietary AI advertising production platform
  • Lead, coach, and provide direction to the design team
  • Allocate creative assignments according to priorities, deadlines, and team capacity
  • Coordinate with Project Management, Marketing, and Merchandising to complete work on schedule
  • Evaluate and approve creative deliverables while offering actionable feedback
  • Share priorities, workflows, and project updates across teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communications, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least three years of professional experience as an Art Director or in a senior graphic design or creative leadership position
  • A strong portfolio showing advanced design, branding, and art direction across digital marketing and ecommerce
  • Expert command of visual design fundamentals, including composition, color, typography, and layout
  • Advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills, especially Photoshop and Illustrator, plus knowledge of production and print workflows
  • Demonstrated ability to develop original concepts from initial idea through final delivery
  • Experience leading and mentoring designers while maintaining rigorous quality standards
  • Strong organization and project management skills for handling multiple priorities in a fast-moving setting
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners and stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting concepts and giving constructive feedback
  • A creative perspective with enthusiasm for design, branding, emerging trends, and engaging customer experiences
  • Careful attention to detail and a consistent commitment to polished, high-quality work
