Android Software Engineer, Level 4 — Snap Inc. (Los Angeles, Onsite)

Build smooth, reliable Snapchat experiences at Snap Inc. by developing mobile features, reviewing code, and delivering scalable Android products.

Description

  • Create engaging mobile experiences that extend Android device capabilities
  • Build smooth, stable, enjoyable products
  • Take features from design through implementation and launch
  • Assess technical tradeoffs and partner with design on user interface and infrastructure practices
  • Review code to maintain high quality standards
  • Apply AI tools and fast-paced engineering workflows to design and ship scalable services
  • Maintain rigorous standards for correctness, security, and production readiness

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • At least two years of post-bachelor’s software development experience, or a master’s degree in a technical field with at least one year of post-graduate development experience, or a relevant PhD
  • Professional experience developing Android applications
  • Experience building large-scale, customer-facing mobile applications
  • Working knowledge of Kotlin, Java, RxJava, Dagger, and related development tools
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and work effectively independently
  • Proficiency with, or strong aptitude for, using AI tools to improve development workflows
  • Sound judgment when reviewing AI-generated code for architectural integrity, performance issues, and security risks
  • Ability to learn and apply evolving AI systems and tools
  • Availability to work in an office at least four days per week under Snap’s Default Together policy
