Advanced Analytics Consultant, Healthcare

Use healthcare analytics to improve member programs, outcomes, and value at Elevance Health. Build predictive models, evaluate programs, and conduct research that informs product and clinical strategy.

Description

  • Analyze member behaviors, preferences, product concepts, value propositions, operational performance, and client-specific health needs using advanced analytics
  • Advise business leaders and internal partners on applying insights to test and advance product innovation
  • Evaluate program outcomes and demonstrate their value
  • Support client acquisition and retention while informing strategic decisions with data
  • Provide analytical insights for business solutions using quality, utilization, cost, and other key drivers
  • Create and refine templates for diagnosing problems and assessing opportunities
  • Advise on the design and execution of tests and pilot programs
  • Help design new programs and initiatives based on test and pilot results
  • Define targeting criteria and segment customers using analytical, clinical, product, and operational inputs
  • Build predictive models and other tools to identify the appropriate members for interventions
  • Create methods for measuring clinical, utilization, and financial outcomes
  • Research complex challenges in outcome measurement
  • Lead applied research initiatives
  • Write white papers, present at industry conferences, and submit work for journal publication
  • Assess data-source limitations and determine the additional value of new data sources

Requirements

  • A master’s degree or doctorate in a quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, economics, epidemiology, engineering, computer science, or operations research
  • At least five years of related healthcare analytics experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience developing and implementing methods to evaluate health-program outcomes and return on investment
  • Experience working with clinical and business leaders to translate and apply analytical insights
  • Experience extracting and transforming data from multiple sources
  • Substantial healthcare analytics experience is preferred, especially in population health or palliative care
  • Advanced proficiency with SAS, Python, or comparable analytical tools is strongly preferred
  • Broad experience with Snowflake, SQL, or comparable database tools is strongly preferred
  • Applicants must live within reasonable commuting distance of a posting location unless a legally required accommodation applies
