Senior Java Developer – Shopify Integrations at Mindera, Portugal Remote
Mindera is hiring a Senior Java Developer in Portugal to build Shopify integrations and scalable backend systems. The role uses Java, Spring Boot, GraphQL, AWS, and event-driven architecture for global client projects.

- Deliver solutions through iterative, collaborative development
- Resolve complex technical challenges and create seamless user experiences
- Contribute across the full delivery lifecycle
- Mentor and motivate members of the development team
- Share expertise and practical insights to support team improvement
- Take ownership of code from development through deployment and ongoing maintenance
- Investigate production incidents and develop effective resolutions
- Support solution architecture, design, and implementation
- Question business requirements to achieve the strongest possible outcomes
- Promote innovative technologies that create business value
- Help define the online technology roadmap and guide technical decisions
- Interview candidates for roles within the relevant area of expertise
- Travel nationally and internationally when required by the project, client, or organization, estimated at 0%–15%

- Substantial experience working as a Senior Java Developer
- Strong foundation in backend engineering
- Background developing and operating complex production systems
- Demonstrated experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting Shopify integrations in production
- Advanced practical experience with Spring Boot
- Experience building and supporting scalable backend services and APIs
- Strong practical experience with GraphQL
- Experience creating, developing, and maintaining GraphQL APIs
- Strong practical experience with AWS, preferably including DynamoDB and secrets management
- Experience using Kafka or comparable event-streaming platforms
- Understanding of asynchronous communication and event-driven system design
- Experience with OpenTelemetry and observability practices for monitoring and tracing distributed systems
- Professional fluency in English
- Must be based in Portugal
- Availability to work from 08:00 to 17:00 CET
