Senior Fall Protection Application Engineer, Personal Safety

Develop fall protection solutions for industrial and infrastructure customers across India. Provide technical support through site assessments, training, and project implementation.

  • Deliver application engineering, technical support, and solution development for fall protection systems across India.
  • Help customers, distributors, sales teams, consultants, and contractors select, apply, inspect, and use fall protection solutions.
  • Turn customer needs and workplace hazards into suitable fall protection solutions that meet 3M requirements, engineering principles, and applicable standards.
  • Assess applications, work-at-height hazards, site conditions, and operational needs.
  • Recommend 3M fall protection products and systems based on applications and identified risks.
  • Advise on harnesses, lanyards, self-retracting lifelines, anchorages, horizontal and vertical lifelines, rescue systems, confined-space access and egress, and related solutions.
  • Review site layouts, drawings, specifications, and work-at-height requirements.
  • Assist with technical calculations and application assessments.
  • Join site surveys and recommend implementation approaches.
  • Provide technical support to customers, EPC contractors, consultants, system integrators, and end users.
  • Visit customers, assess sites, lead technical discussions, demonstrate products, and support application trials.
  • Guide projects from opportunity identification through solution development and implementation.
  • Resolve product and application issues, coordinating escalations with relevant 3M teams.
  • Help PSD Sales identify and develop technical opportunities, customer meetings, tenders, specifications, and project discussions.
  • Create and deliver technical training, demonstrations, application guides, presentations, and competency programs.
  • Stay current with Indian and international fall protection standards and regulations.
  • Conduct site surveys, write reports, and document technical engagements and application opportunities.
  • Work with PSD Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Application Engineering, Regulatory, and global technical teams.
  • Support product launches, application development, and the sharing of solutions across India and Asia.
  • Contribute to EHS policies, hazard identification, and continuous improvement.

आवश्यकताएँ

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, civil, industrial, safety, or a related technical engineering discipline.
  • Typically 8–10 years of relevant experience in fall protection, work-at-height or industrial safety, engineering solutions, construction, infrastructure, or a related technical field.
  • Strong grasp of fall protection principles and work-at-height applications.
  • Experience in customer-facing technical work, application engineering, engineering services, or technical sales support.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, site layouts, specifications, and engineering requirements.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across India for customer visits, site surveys, training, and project support.
  • Experience with fall protection, anchorage, lifeline, rescue, or access and egress systems.
  • Experience in construction, infrastructure, oil and gas, power, utilities, manufacturing, or mining.
  • Familiarity with applicable Indian and international fall protection standards.
  • Experience with engineered fall protection solutions and site assessments.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD or similar engineering or drawing tools is an advantage.
  • Experience with multinational companies, engineering consultants, EPC contractors, or large industrial customers is beneficial.
  • Understanding of fall protection principles, hierarchy of controls, anchorages, rescue planning, and work-at-height applications.
  • Skills in customer and stakeholder management, problem solving, technical communication, site assessment and risk analysis, training and presentations, project and opportunity management, cross-functional collaboration, commercial awareness, and safety.
