Senior Backend Infrastructure Engineer – Remote in Israel
Join Akamai Technologies to build and run scalable backend services, data pipelines, and databases for its browser and desktop security platform. Work across AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, Kafka, PostgreSQL, and ClickHouse.

- Design, develop, and operate scalable backend services and their supporting infrastructure
- Manage production systems across the full lifecycle, with emphasis on availability, performance, observability, and operational readiness
- Create and maintain dependable ETL and data-processing pipelines for production use
- Develop data-intensive systems with PostgreSQL and ClickHouse, covering schemas, query optimization, and data lifecycle management
- Build event-driven processing with Kafka and connect it to backend services
- Develop and enhance AWS and GCP infrastructure with Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code
- Strengthen deployment and operational practices through CI/CD, monitoring, and automation
- Partner effectively with collaborating teams
- Run the backend systems and infrastructure that power Akamai’s security platform
आवश्यकताएँ
- At least four years of production experience in backend or infrastructure engineering
- Proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages for backend development
- Experience building and operating production services
- Background designing distributed systems
- Ability to diagnose complex performance and reliability problems
- Hands-on PostgreSQL experience spanning data modeling, schema design, query performance, migrations, and troubleshooting
- Experience with ClickHouse and Kafka, or comparable analytical database and event-streaming technologies
- Experience developing ETL or data-processing pipelines
- Experience supporting analytics or Data Science workflows
- Practical experience with AWS or GCP, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code
