Senior Backend Engineer, Payments — Remote in the United States
Build scalable Go microservices for Weave’s healthcare payments platform. Lead architecture, reliability, and cross-functional delivery.

- Develop and maintain scalable backend services and APIs built with Go microservices
- Shape technical architecture while planning for future scale and maintainability
- Partner with product, design, and frontend teams to deliver impactful features
- Contribute to system design reviews and broader engineering strategy
- Maintain high standards for code quality, reliability, and observability across the delivery lifecycle
- Lead projects from initial planning through completion
- Support the growth of peers and junior engineers through mentorship
- Join the on-call rotation and help resolve critical production incidents
- Define operational excellence practices covering SLAs, SLOs, monitoring, alerting, and incident response
- Contribute to Weave’s healthcare payments platform, including scheduling, payments, communication, and reviews
आवश्यकताएँ
- At least five years of backend engineering experience using modern languages such as Go, Java, Python, Ruby, or C#
- Go experience is preferred, though candidates willing to learn Go may be considered
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and backend services
- Strong knowledge of distributed systems and service communication technologies, including protobuf, gRPC, REST, Kafka, and Redis
- Experience working with relational databases and SQL
- Willingness to join an on-call rotation and take ownership of production systems
- Experience deploying and operating cloud services, particularly on Google Cloud Platform
- Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and observability practices such as metrics, alerting, tracing, and reliability monitoring
- Experience with protobuf/gRPC or Temporal
- Experience decomposing monolithic applications into microservices
- Ability to successfully complete a background check
