Entry-Level Geotechnical Staff Engineer
Support geotechnical investigations, analysis, design, reporting, and construction monitoring for infrastructure projects at employee-owned consulting firm Tighe & Bond.
विवरण
- Work under the guidance of a Professional Engineer specializing in geotechnical engineering
- Help develop project scopes of work
- Plan, schedule, perform, and coordinate geotechnical investigations, including borings and test pits
- Document soil, groundwater, and rock conditions
- Produce subsurface exploration logs
- Analyze geotechnical data to characterize subsurface conditions and material properties
- Develop geotechnical reports with analyses and design recommendations
- Complete foundation designs, slope stability analyses, and settlement calculations
- Help prepare cost estimates, construction specifications, and related project documentation
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, engineers, scientists, and clients
- Verify work complies with applicable local, state, and federal regulations and project specifications
- Assist with construction monitoring, including geotechnical observations and inspections
- Keep fieldwork records and project data accurate and current
आवश्यकताएँ
- Bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, geotechnical, or another related engineering discipline
- Relevant internship or professional experience in engineering design, consulting, and/or construction observation
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
- Motivation to learn, self-direction, and strong organizational abilities
- Availability to travel to project sites and perform fieldwork across the Northeast Region
- Master’s degree in civil engineering with a geotechnical concentration preferred
- Practical experience with geotechnical tools such as SLIDE, SLOPEW, SETTTLE3, SupportIT, LPile, GRLWEAP, or comparable software preferred
- At least one year of relevant geotechnical internship or full-time experience preferred
- FE or EIT certification completed, or plans to obtain it within six months, preferred
