Business Development Representative – Checkbook, San Mateo Hybrid
Join Checkbook’s business development team to identify and qualify prospects for its fintech payments platform. The role manages outbound outreach, CRM activity, and handoffs of qualified leads to sales.

- Research and identify prospective clients in the target market.
- Generate new business opportunities through cold calls, email campaigns, and social selling.
- Evaluate leads and determine their fit for the company’s products and services.
- Learn prospects’ needs and challenges to clearly explain the value of Checkbook.io’s solutions.
- Work with the sales team to move qualified leads into the sales pipeline.
- Keep HubSpot or another CRM accurate, including interaction histories and lead progression.
- Report lead-generation activity and performance against targets to management regularly.
- Monitor industry developments, competitors, and market shifts for emerging opportunities.
- Represent Checkbook.io at industry events and networking gatherings while developing prospect relationships.
आवश्यकताएँ
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional experience as a Business Development Representative or in a comparable sales position.
- Strong knowledge of fintech products, payments, and financial technology.
- Experience with HubSpot or a comparable CRM is strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills for engaging prospective customers.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-moving environment.
- Results-focused approach with evidence of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
- Strong organization and time-management skills for managing competing priorities.
- Adaptable mindset and willingness to keep pace with industry and product changes.
- Proactive, self-directed approach with enthusiasm for business growth.
- At least three years of relevant experience, preferably in a B2B startup.
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced setting and adjust to changing targets.
- Understanding of the business development and sales process.
- Consistent, systematic, and well-organized working style.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Payments-industry experience is a plus.
