Billing and Collections Specialist - Fort Pierce, Florida (Onsite)
Manage healthcare billing and collections across claims, denials, eligibility verification, and patient accounts. Support Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, contract billing, and self-pay operations.

- Independently manage Medicare, Medicaid, local contract, commercial insurance, and self-pay accounts in line with CMS, AHCA, HRSA, and payer requirements
- Submit daily charges for Athena processing
- Track workflow dashboards and claims worklists to ensure timely follow-up and compliant appeals
- Analyze denial reports, identify trends and process improvements, and present findings to the Business Services Manager for action planning
- Manage special contract billing and eligibility verification for programs including Ryan White and Project Response
- Ensure monthly claims are submitted according to payer requirements
- Verify insurance eligibility from appointment schedules and help resolve discrepancies
- Respond to patient calls and explain insurance and billing matters
- Post monthly laboratory charges
- Review and update patient accounts according to sliding-fee eligibility
- Complete additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
आवश्यकताएँ
- High school diploma or GED is required
- A college degree is preferred but not required
- Billing and coding certification is preferred
- At least three years of medical billing and coding experience
- At least two years of experience with self-pay and third-party collections
- FQHC experience is a plus
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- English-Spanish or English-Creole bilingual ability is preferred but not required
- Level 2 background clearance is required
- Documentation of Tdap, MMR, and hepatitis B immunizations, plus either a history of chickenpox or varicella vaccination, is required
- A PPD test is completed once upon hire when applicable to the position
