- Examine approved, aggregated ChatGPT usage data to map geographic patterns in AI adoption and use.
- Analyze AI use across education, workforce development, entrepreneurship, small business, professional productivity, and social and economic opportunity.
- Compare regional adoption, use cases, and engagement to inform policy priorities and stakeholder outreach.
- Build market profiles and conduct recurring analyses across communities.
- Surface emerging trends and notable patterns for policymakers, civic leaders, institutions, and media.
- Assess how representative the data is, its limitations, and how it should be interpreted.
- Work with policy, communications, and partnerships teams to turn findings into evidence-based narratives.
- Produce state- and market-specific insights for policy initiatives, public affairs campaigns, legislative engagement, and regional communications.
- Contribute to reports, fact sheets, presentations, visualizations, talking points, and other materials for internal and external audiences.
- Explain complex findings clearly, including uncertainty and methodological limitations.
- Handle time-sensitive analytical requests.
- Build dashboards, reporting tools, and repeatable analysis processes.
- Work with data science, research, product, and engineering teams to improve methods and understand AI adoption and use.
- Set consistent metrics and methods for tracking trends and comparing geographic markets.
- Create analytical frameworks that link usage patterns to economic opportunity, workforce change, education, and AI access.
- Combine internal insights with relevant public data to add economic, demographic, and geographic context.
- Conduct analyses in line with OpenAI’s privacy, security, and data governance requirements.

- At least four years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, economic research, public policy analytics, or a related quantitative field.
- Proficiency in SQL.
- Experience working with large, complex datasets.
- Experience using Python, R, or comparable tools for quantitative analysis.
- Experience building dashboards, reports, and data visualizations with Tableau, Looker, or similar platforms.
- Ability to frame analytical questions independently, identify relevant data, conduct rigorous analysis, and communicate findings clearly.
- Understanding of data quality, sampling limitations, representativeness, and the distinction between correlation and causation.
- Ability to explain technical findings in concise, accessible terms to nontechnical stakeholders.
- Ability to collaborate across functions and turn analysis into actionable recommendations.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
- Intellectual curiosity about AI, public policy, economic opportunity, and emerging technologies.
- Experience using data for public policy research, government affairs, strategic communications, or public-sector decisions is a plus.
- Experience working with geographically disaggregated data is a plus.
- Experience combining proprietary data with public sources such as the U.S. Census Bureau, Bureau of Labor Statistics, or Bureau of Economic Analysis is a plus.
- Experience analyzing behavioral or product usage data is a plus.
- Education or training in economics, political science, statistics, data science, or a related quantitative discipline is a plus.
- Experience building analytical products or reporting capabilities from the ground up is a plus.
