Senior Java Engineer (Remote, Poland)
Build and operate Java microservices, Kafka integrations, and cloud infrastructure for InPost Group’s European parcel delivery and e-commerce platforms. Lead features from initial design through production delivery.
Tavsif
- Create and deliver high-performance Java and Spring Boot microservices
- Develop and support event-driven integrations with Apache Kafka
- Manage the data layer across schema design, query optimisation, migrations, and PostgreSQL
- Operate in a containerised, cloud-native environment built with Docker, Kubernetes, and GCP
- Strengthen software quality through code reviews, testing practices, and disciplined CI/CD
- Coach colleagues while advancing engineering quality and continuous improvement
- Take ownership of features from requirements definition through production and ongoing support
- Partner with business stakeholders to test assumptions and agree on effective solutions
- Apply product, customer, and feature context to engineering decisions
- Collaborate across a large organisation to connect teams and deliver results
- Produce technical documentation such as System Design documents, RFCs, and ADRs
- Proactively uncover and reduce technical debt
- Contribute thoughtful, evidence-based proposals to architecture discussions
Talablar
- At least five years of professional Java development experience
- Java 11 or newer, including Java 17+ environments
- Practical expertise with Spring Boot, Spring Security, and JPA/Hibernate
- Strong command of distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architecture, and inter-service communication
- In-depth JVM knowledge covering the memory model, garbage-collection tuning, concurrency, and performance profiling
- Hands-on Apache Kafka experience with producers, consumers, consumer groups, offset management, and error handling
- PostgreSQL expertise in relational modelling, indexing, query plans, and schema migrations
- Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Working knowledge of Maven or Gradle, Git, JIRA, Confluence, code reviews, and CI/CD
- Ability to collaborate with non-technical stakeholders and produce clear design documentation
- English proficiency at B2 level or above for team and stakeholder communication
- Experience using AI tools and large language models, including GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, and Claude
- Ability to assess AI-generated content critically and use it responsibly in professional work
- Kotlin development experience is advantageous
- Experience with Domain-Driven Design, CQRS, Event Sourcing, gRPC, GraphQL, GCP services, MongoDB, high-throughput or low-latency systems, or e-commerce, logistics, or fintech is advantageous
