Senior Embedded Software Designer, Railway Systems

Develop embedded software for Knorr-Bremse railway equipment, from system design through integration and validation. Build robust software that meets railway standards.

Tavsif

  • Create and maintain embedded software for railway subsystems.
  • Define software architecture, modules, interfaces, and how they work together.
  • Write reliable, well-documented code using practices such as code review, static analysis, and testing.
  • Maintain software requirements specifications and track requirements through development.
  • Integrate software with electronic modules and mechatronic systems.
  • Develop and run unit, integration, and functional validation tests.
  • Investigate issues, identify root causes, and recommend durable fixes.
  • Support testing on test benches and, when needed, on vehicles.
  • Work with systems, hardware, testing, and production teams.
  • Take part in technical reviews and architecture assessments.
  • Prepare clear, structured documentation for internal and external reviews.

Talablar

  • Be authorized to work in Canada.
  • Have a bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • Bring at least six years of software development experience with embedded systems or industrial equipment.
  • Be proficient in embedded C/C++, microcontrollers, RTOS, and frameworks or middleware.
  • Know CAN, RS485, and TCP/IP.
  • Understand software engineering practices covering architecture, requirements, testing, and continuous integration.
  • Experience in an environment governed by standards such as EN 50128, EN 50716, IEEE 1558, or an equivalent is an asset.
  • Have excellent written communication skills.
  • Be fluent in French and English.
