Product Design Manager - New York City Onsite
Lead product design for human-centered digital banking experiences at Capital One. Guide design initiatives, develop designers, and shape product strategy through research and prototyping.
Tavsif
- Partner with others to develop solutions for complex problems and shape product strategy
- Apply interaction, visual, and service design expertise with cross-functional partners
- Recommend suitable tools, platforms, frameworks, and design systems
- Develop journey maps, blueprints, high-fidelity designs, and prototypes
- Lead design initiatives and assign work to junior designers
- Strengthen stakeholder partnerships and mentor design team members
- Advance Capital One’s product design practice
- Balance stakeholder needs with data, research findings, scalability, and technical constraints
- Keep teams focused on customer-centered and inclusive design outcomes
- Use customer, competitor, and market insights to address business challenges
- Apply knowledge of technology, data capabilities, and emerging technologies to overcome technical limitations
- Encourage collaboration across business lines and organizational teams
- Present design work to senior audiences and help guide strategic decisions
Talablar
- Bring at least five years of experience in product design
- Have at least five years of experience using design and prototyping tools such as Figma
- Preferred candidates have at least six years of product design experience
- Preferred candidates have at least six years of experience with design and prototyping tools such as Figma
- Have experience working with and contributing to an established design system
- Have experience partnering with product, technology, and business teams
- Have experience leading design projects or teams
- Have experience working in highly regulated, data-intensive problem areas
- Provide a strong portfolio showing leadership, process, results, and impact
- Must not require new employment authorization sponsorship from Capital One
