Engineering Manager, Backend — Ajaib
Lead backend engineering teams building scalable systems for Ajaib’s Indonesian fintech products. Guide architecture, delivery, incident response, and engineer development.
Tavsif
- Lead the design and development of secure, scalable backend services.
- Contribute hands-on through coding, debugging, and reviews of critical pull requests.
- Support engineers during production incidents and help resolve issues.
- Join architecture and system design discussions and make sound technical decisions.
- Turn product and business priorities into engineering roadmaps and milestones.
- Manage dependencies and surface delivery risks early.
- Coach engineers through regular feedback and career development.
- Promote ownership, accountability, and continuous learning across the team.
- Improve testing, deployment, monitoring, and incident management practices.
- Work with Product, Design, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Talablar
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Software engineering experience, including at least two years managing engineers.
- Strong backend engineering experience in architecture, API design, databases, and production operations.
- Experience with Java and/or Go, plus MySQL or PostgreSQL, Redis, and Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architecture.
- Experience with high-traffic systems in fintech or other complex environments.
- Record of leading projects from planning through production.
- Clear communication with Product, Design, and engineering stakeholders.
- Ability to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical audiences.
- Ownership mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.
- Fluent English and comfort working with distributed, international teams.
