Associate Immigration Attorney – Chicago Hybrid
Prepare and review corporate immigration cases at Meltzer Hellrung, a technology-enabled immigration services provider. Support senior attorneys on visa, PERM, and dependent matters.
Tavsif
- Prepare visa applications with senior attorneys and paralegal account managers.
- Check case files, profiles, and Voyager records for accuracy and completeness.
- Assess client and foreign national documents for sufficiency, escalating missing items to senior attorneys.
- Review paralegal-prepared H-1B and LCA forms and provide initial feedback for senior attorney approval.
- Draft and review support letters using firm templates and client details.
- Check completed applications and supporting documents for consistency before filing.
- Monitor email and respond to internal requests and appropriate client inquiries.
- Support PERM green card matters by reviewing recruitment records, PWRs, and initial Form 9089 drafts.
- Review dependent visa applications.
- Build experience drafting RFE responses under direct attorney supervision.
- Work with a senior attorney or team lead during initial training.
- Track case systems and communications, escalating issues promptly.
Talablar
- Hold a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Have an active bar license, or pending bar exam results with licensure expected within nine months of starting.
- Be in Chicago twice per year.
- Bring 1–3 years of corporate immigration experience as an attorney, law clerk, legal extern, or immigration paralegal.
- Demonstrate strong organization and attention to detail across multiple active matters.
- Be available to start immediately.
- Be available to work full time.
