Staff Backend Engineer
Shape shared backend systems, developer tools, and security capabilities for Tabby’s global fintech platform. Lead complex engineering initiatives across a distributed organization.
Opis
- Set the technical direction for Core Backend, developing shared services, libraries, and developer tools used across Tabby.
- Turn recurring cross-team challenges into reusable solutions that strengthen developer productivity, reliability, and security.
- Lead the design and development of shared backend capabilities, including event-driven communication, application-level encryption, and sensitive-data protection.
- Build internal engineering tools such as the Service Catalog, API Registry, SLO platform, and AI-assisted development tools.
- Take complex initiatives from discovery and design through implementation, rollout, and production validation, coordinating across engineers and teams.
- Partner with teams using these tools to understand their needs, support integrations and migrations, and apply feedback to improve them.
- Work hands-on with Go, test performance and failure scenarios, and build observability and recovery mechanisms into dependent systems.
- Strengthen engineering practices through architecture reviews, technical decisions, mentoring, and documentation.
Zahteve
- At least 7 years of backend engineering experience, including building and operating production systems at scale.
- Strong Go skills and a record of remaining hands-on in senior technical roles.
- Deep expertise in distributed, high-load systems.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform, GitLab, and microservices.
- Demonstrated ownership of complex initiatives from design through production, including architecture and technology decisions with lasting impact.
- Strong understanding of quality, security, observability, and operational excellence.
- Experience integrating third-party APIs and contributing to product development.
- Ability to influence decisions across teams and explain technical topics clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience mentoring engineers and raising technical standards across a team or organization.
- Strong English communication skills.
- A proactive, independent approach to ambiguous problems.
