Senior Electrical Resident Engineer

Oversee electrical installation, commissioning, and compliance on Aurecon construction and data centre projects in Malaysia. Hybrid role on a one-year fixed-term contract.

Opis

  • Oversee on-site electrical installations, checking work against approved drawings, project specifications, and Malaysian codes and standards.
  • Resolve site issues with technical guidance and engineering solutions.
  • Coordinate work with designers, consultants, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Review electrical drawings, work methods, shop drawings, material submissions, and technical documents.
  • Supervise installation of high- and low-voltage distribution, substations, transformers, generators, lighting, earthing and lightning protection, UPS, ELV systems, and related critical infrastructure.
  • Arrange and witness inspections, tests, commissioning, and handover activities.
  • Check workmanship and materials against project specifications, quality assurance and control requirements, and safety standards.
  • Confirm delivered equipment and materials meet approved specifications before installation.
  • Keep site records, inspection and progress reports, non-conformance reports, and as-built documents up to date.
  • Contribute expertise and creative problem-solving to projects in other regions and markets.

Zahteve

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or an equivalent qualification.
  • Registration with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) as a Graduate Engineer or Professional Engineer.
  • At least 10 years’ experience supervising electrical services on site, preferably for industrial, manufacturing, institutional, pharmaceutical, data centre, or mission-critical developments.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical building services, including high- and low-voltage distribution, substations, transformers, generators, lighting, earthing and lightning protection, UPS, ELV systems, and other critical electrical infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with local authority requirements, Malaysian codes and standards, testing and commissioning, quality assurance and control processes, and construction best practices.
  • Strong coordination, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to manage contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders effectively.
  • Commitment to high standards of safety, quality, and sustainable engineering throughout project delivery.
  • Willingness to work on a one-year fixed-term contract.
