Payroll Accountant
Process compliant California government contracting payroll, taxes, and journal entries. Support large employee payrolls using Costpoint and ADP.
Opis
- Run regular and off-cycle payrolls, including audits, reports, and filings
- Calculate overtime, shift differentials, and other specialized pay
- Apply union agreements and payroll rules
- Follow California payroll regulations and federal, state, and local wage and hour laws
- Research and reconcile payroll taxes, including complex multi-jurisdictional cases
- Record payroll journal entries in Costpoint and prepare additional entries during month-end reconciliation
- Respond confidentially to employee and stakeholder questions about payroll, taxes, and leave
- Maintain complete payroll records
- Manage multiple priorities through completion
Zahteve
- At least five years of payroll experience in a government contracting environment
- Knowledge of California regulations, union payroll rules, and Service Contract Act pay requirements
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint, ADP Workforce Now, and ADP Workforce Manager
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
- Experience in payroll accounting and journal entries for union and Service Contract Act payroll
- Experience processing California payrolls for more than 900 employees
- Familiarity with California payroll rules and regulations
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
- Professional certification such as APA Certified Payroll Professional is preferred
- Strong analytical skills and Excel proficiency
- Ability to work on-site with flexibility for a hybrid schedule is preferred
