Descriere

  • Administer, monitor, and maintain SQL Server instances across production and non-production environments.
  • Design and implement backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability strategies.
  • Manage and optimize AWS storage services, including Amazon EBS, S3, EFS, and FSx.
  • Plan and execute migrations of on-premises databases to AWS.
  • Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, and tune queries, indexes, and execution plans.
  • Implement security, encryption, and access-control policies.
  • Automate operational tasks with T-SQL, PowerShell, and/or infrastructure-as-code tools.
  • Manage storage capacity, forecast growth, and optimize AWS costs.
  • Document architectures, operating procedures, and administration policies.
  • Work closely with infrastructure, development, and security teams.
  • Provide support and resolve incidents, including on-call coverage outside regular hours when required.

Cerințe

  • At least six years of experience as a DBA, with a focus on Microsoft SQL Server.
  • At least three years of experience working with AWS storage services such as EBS, S3, EFS, and FSx, or comparable services.
  • Demonstrable experience migrating databases to the cloud is preferred.
  • Experience supporting high-availability and mission-critical environments.
  • Advanced SQL Server administration skills, including installation, configuration, security, backup and restore, and performance tuning.
  • Advanced T-SQL knowledge, including stored procedures, functions, triggers, and query optimization.
  • Hands-on knowledge of AWS storage services—EBS, S3, EFS, and FSx is essential; RDS and EC2 experience is preferred.
  • Understanding of cloud networking and security concepts, including VPC, IAM, KMS, and Security Groups.
  • Scripting experience with PowerShell and/or Bash.
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools such as SQL Server Management Studio, CloudWatch, or comparable solutions.
  • AWS certifications, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Database – Specialty, and/or Microsoft SQL Server certifications are preferred.
  • Ability to analyze problems and resolve issues under pressure.
  • Proactive working style with strong attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills for working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and optimizing costs and resources.
