Senior Snowflake Data Engineer – Mexico Remote
Build reliable, governed Snowflake data warehouses for DaCodes’ software and digital transformation clients. Enable traceable business insights for AI agents across Mexico and LATAM.
Descriere
- Build extraction pipelines from SAP ASE (Sybase) and SQL Server over ODBC, using Openflow connector patterns.
- Integrate REST APIs with authentication, token renewal, pagination, rate-limit handling, and retries.
- Load files and other sources into the data warehouse while retaining the original data and extraction timestamp.
- Support data reprocessing from the landing layer without querying source systems again.
- Develop Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers with conformed dimensions, history tracking, and business facts containing certified metrics.
- Create dbt models and transformations with declarative tests, incremental materializations, and generated documentation.
- Work with clients to establish standardized master catalogs that unify identifiers and names across systems.
- Partner with the AI engineer to design semantic models, verified queries, and a metrics glossary for agent consumption.
- Maintain end-to-end traceability from each figure to its source, table, and reporting date, and expose data through consumption views.
- Implement data-quality rules and quarantine mechanisms for records that fail defined criteria.
- Orchestrate overnight processing windows with execution monitoring and logs.
- Reconcile the Gold layer against the client’s current reports and document discrepancies and their causes.
- Manage Snowflake credit consumption and configure resource-monitoring controls.
- Help assess the accuracy and repeatability of AI-generated agent responses.
- Implement RBAC, row access policies, and masking policies according to the client-approved access matrix.
- Ensure agents query and return only information authorized for each role.
- Document data lineage, pipeline operations, and reprocessing procedures.
- Prepare the technical and operational handover to the client’s team.
Cerințe
- At least five years of experience building production data warehouses, including at least two years with Snowflake.
- Advanced Snowflake expertise covering warehouses, RBAC, row access policies, masking, and resource monitors.
- Advanced dimensional-modeling experience with conformed dimensions, history tracking, and star schemas.
- Advanced dbt proficiency, including declarative tests, incremental materializations, and generated documentation.
- Advanced SQL and experience extracting data from SAP ASE (Sybase) and SQL Server, including reverse-engineering undocumented schemas.
- Advanced experience ingesting REST APIs with authentication, pagination, rate control, and retries.
- Advanced experience orchestrating pipelines and implementing data quality with quarantine controls.
- Intermediate to advanced experience integrating LLM models with data warehouses, including semantic models, governed text-to-SQL, verified queries, and accuracy and repeatability evaluation.
- Intermediate experience designing data layers for agents with source and reporting-date traceability, consumption views, and credit controls.
- Experience working directly with business users to define rules, standardize catalogs, and validate figures.
- Native or professional Spanish and intermediate English, with the ability to understand technical documentation.
- Residence in Mexico or LATAM and availability for full-time remote work.
- Preferred: experience with Snowflake Intelligence, Cortex Analyst, Cortex Agents, Cortex Search, or Snowflake CoCo.
- Preferred: experience implementing RAG over unstructured documents integrated with a data warehouse.
- Preferred: experience with Openflow, Dynamic Tables, or Snowpark.
- Preferred: experience with niche ERP systems running on Sybase or SQL Server.
- Preferred: SnowPro Core or Advanced certification.
