Senior MySQL Database Administrator - Bulgaria Remote
Maintain and optimize development, staging, and production databases for Fluent Trade Technologies’ low-latency fintech trading platform. Lead database administration, replication, security, SQL optimization, stored procedures, and schema design.

- Contribute to rapid development cycles that deliver reliable, high-quality products.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure through hands-on technical work.
- Own the organization’s development, staging, and production databases.
- Manage database security, failover and replication, backups, and performance optimization.
- Design table structures, indexes, queries, and stored procedures.
- Apply suitable products, operating procedures, best practices, and architectural patterns.
- Review specifications carefully to uncover edge cases and operational scenarios.
- Work closely with development, QA, and DevOps teams.
- Serve as the organization’s internal database subject-matter expert.
- Train developers and QA team members.
Cerințe
- Bring at least five years of database administration experience, including three or more years working with MySQL.
- Demonstrate practical experience with database failover, security, optimization, backups, and related administration tasks.
- Have hands-on experience designing, testing, and maintaining databases.
- Work independently and manage database operations as the organization’s sole DBA.
- Use a scripting language such as Python or Bash.
- Apply strong issue-resolution skills and analyze problems to identify their root causes.
- Communicate effectively in both written and spoken English.
- C++ development experience, particularly calling MySQL from C++, is an advantage.
- A financial technology background involving FIX protocol or FX trading is an advantage.
- Experience with Jira, SVN, or Jenkins is an advantage.
