Onsite Operations Supervisor – Freight and Logistics

Supervise freight handling, inventory control, safety, compliance, and customer coordination for a full-time onsite logistics operation.

Descriere

  • Lead freight handlers and other operations personnel.
  • Delegate work, coach employees, and track performance.
  • Coordinate the loading, unloading, and movement of freight shipments.
  • Verify that goods are correctly documented, labeled, and packaged.
  • Schedule and prioritize freight activities around customer needs and deadlines.
  • Track workflow and reallocate resources to improve operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate freight movements with customers, carriers, and other stakeholders while addressing inquiries and issues.
  • Communicate promptly with customers and drive resolution of their concerns.
  • Apply quality controls and complete inspections and audits.
  • Uphold safety procedures and deliver safety training.
  • Manage inventory, stock levels, cycle counts, and reconciliations.
  • Keep inventory records and shipping documentation accurate, including bills of lading and manifests.
  • Produce reports covering performance measures, inventory levels, and incidents.
  • Develop freight-handling teams through training, coaching, and performance reviews.

Cerințe

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related discipline.
  • Three to five years of experience in freight operations or logistics.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong leadership and team-management capabilities.
  • Excellent organization and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Working knowledge of freight-handling procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency with warehouse management systems and transportation management systems.
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills.
  • Fluent spoken and written English.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with warehouse and transportation management systems.
  • Logistics or supply chain certification, such as CLTD or CSCP, is preferred.
  • Experience with international freight and customs clearance is preferred.
  • Knowledge of sector-specific regulations and compliance standards is preferred.
