Junior CaseWare Accountant – South Africa (Remote)

Prepare annual financial statements for simulated South African companies using CaseWare, from trial balance through signing pack. Support AI accounting workflows by documenting judgments, checking outputs, and improving automation processes.

Descriere

  • Prepare annual financial statements for a simulated portfolio of small, owner-managed companies, from year-end trial balance through signing pack
  • Review year-end packs and request any missing information
  • Reconcile prior-year signed financial statements with current-year opening balances and document discrepancies
  • Map client account names to CaseWare account numbers and lead sheet codes, then build import files and load trial balances
  • Reconcile bank balances, interest, foreign balances, creditors, and income to supporting records
  • Post year-end journals for depreciation, deferred tax, prior-year tax adjustments, and reclassifications
  • Roll forward CaseWare files, update notes and comparatives, and prepare tax computations
  • Resolve AI partner review notes and update accounting files
  • Prepare final signing packs for director approval
  • Produce high-quality annual financial statement training data and document accounting procedures, decisions, and judgments for AI
  • Design, refine, and test AI accounting workflows while identifying and correcting AI errors
  • Use AI models to map accounts, draft notes, and review work
  • Flag turnover exceeding the R2.3m VAT registration threshold when clients are unregistered
  • Manage final trial balances, journals, signed financial statements, missing-record requests, and changes after signing packs are prepared

Cerințe

  • BCom in Accounting, National Diploma in Accounting, or an equivalent qualification
  • 0 to 2 years of experience in an accounting practice, including annual financial statement preparation during articles or a learnership
  • Hands-on CaseWare experience with file setup, trial balance import and mapping, roll-forward, adjusting journals, and updating notes and comparatives is required
  • Working knowledge of IFRS for SMEs and the Companies Act
  • Practical understanding of deferred tax, depreciation, and company income tax computations
  • Strong Excel skills, including lookups, lead schedules, and reconciliations
  • Clear and polite written English for client requests and review responses
  • Genuine interest in AI and in breaking accounting work into clear, teachable steps
  • Comfort working with AI models and critically checking and challenging their outputs
  • A 1- to 2-minute Loom video is required with the application
