Electrical Engineer – Medical Device Electronics

Design and test electronics, PCBs, firmware, and software for medical devices, and help move products from engineering into manufacturing. This on-site role is based in Creedmoor, North Carolina.

Descriere

  • Define product specifications, documentation, and development work for new products and sustaining engineering projects.
  • Contribute engineering analysis and input to design projects.
  • Turn broad requirements into detailed technical solutions.
  • Build prototypes and demonstration units from new ideas.
  • Design, prototype, test, and integrate electrical systems.
  • Design, prototype, and test printed circuit boards.
  • Develop and test software for new products and upgrades.
  • Move new products from engineering into manufacturing.
  • Refine existing electrical designs to improve production time, quality, and cost.
  • Prepare required design documentation.
  • Take part in design reviews.
  • Track developments in electrical engineering technology and practice.
  • Deliver projects to schedules set by the Director of Engineering.
  • Check that products meet quality expectations.
  • Keep project records up to date.
  • Report to the Director of Engineering.

Cerințe

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent degree.
  • At least three years of electronic or software design experience.
  • Strong knowledge of analog, digital, and power electronics.
  • Familiarity with semiconductors, microprocessors, and communication circuits.
  • Familiarity with firmware design and C or C++.
  • Strong spoken and written communication skills.
  • Troubleshooting, testing, and analysis skills.
  • Experience designing PCBs with Altium Designer.
  • Product development experience from concept through production is preferred.
  • Experience in an ISO 13485 quality environment is preferred, but not required.
  • Familiarity with safety certifications such as CSA, UL, CE, and TUV is preferred.
  • Experience integrating Bluetooth and Wi-Fi into PCB designs is preferred.
  • Medical device experience is preferred.
  • EMI/EMC troubleshooting experience is preferred.
  • Able to work at least 40 hours per week.
  • Able to work on site five days a week.
  • Able to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 80 pounds.
  • Minimal travel may be required.
