Senior AI Infrastructure Networking Solutions Architect at Mirantis

Apraksts

  • Lead network solution design for k0rdent AI, Mirantis’s platform for building and operating GPU clouds and AI factories.
  • Design interconnects for large GPU clusters, tenant isolation, and workload connectivity across containers, virtual machines, and bare-metal nodes.
  • Create published reference architectures, working code, and proofs of concept on physical hardware.
  • Define compute fabrics with InfiniBand and RoCEv2 Ethernet, including rail-optimized and fat-tree or Clos topologies.
  • Plan front-end, storage, and management networks, including connections to customer data centers, public clouds, and hybrid environments.
  • Design multi-tenant isolation using InfiniBand partitions, VRFs, EVPN-VXLAN, and Kubernetes network policies.
  • Document scaling limits and trade-offs in cost, performance, operability, and vendor dependence.
  • Specify Linux host networking for NICs, DPUs, and SuperNICs, covering PCI passthrough, SR-IOV, IOMMU, NUMA, and GPU-to-NIC affinity.
  • Design Kubernetes networking for AI workloads with CNIs, Multus, SR-IOV, RDMA plugins, NVIDIA Network Operator, and DRA.
  • Design KubeVirt networking for GPU and RDMA traffic.
  • Research new AI networking technologies and standards, then prototype and benchmark alternatives.
  • Publish research notes, design proposals, papers, blog posts, and talks.
  • Build and operate proofs of concept for customers and partners, reporting results against agreed success criteria.
  • Develop automation and tooling with Python, Go, Bash, Ansible, Helm, Kubernetes manifests, and Terraform.
  • Test and benchmark network fabrics and host configurations with NCCL tests, perftest, and ib_write_bw.
  • Act as the networking expert in customer discovery, design reviews, and architecture workshops.
  • Collaborate with hardware and networking partners on joint designs and validation.
  • Share research findings with Product and Engineering and help guide the k0rdent AI roadmap.
  • Speak at industry events, webinars, and partner summits, and lead technical workshops.
  • Create reference architectures, solution briefs, blog posts, and internal enablement materials.

Prasības

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, telecommunications, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least eight years of experience in network engineering or architecture.
  • At least three years working with data center, HPC, or cloud infrastructure networking.
  • Customer-facing background as a solutions architect, pre-sales engineer, consultant, or technical lead.
  • Expertise in data center network design, including spine-leaf and Clos topologies, rail-optimized GPU fabrics, oversubscription, and ECMP.
  • Strong InfiniBand knowledge, including subnet management, partitioning, adaptive routing, and NCCL/RDMA traffic.
  • Strong RoCEv2 Ethernet knowledge, including PFC, ECN, DCQCN, QoS, MTU, and buffer tuning.
  • Knowledge of BGP, EVPN-VXLAN, and VRFs for multi-tenant networking.
  • Experience with hybrid and multi-cloud connectivity, interconnects, VPNs, cloud networking, IP addressing, and DNS planning.
  • Linux networking expertise covering NICs, PCI passthrough, SR-IOV, IOMMU, NUMA affinity, iproute2, ethtool, and devlink.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes networking, including CNI plugins, Multus, secondary networks, SR-IOV and RDMA device plugins, network policies, and service exposure.
  • Experience with KubeVirt and VM networking, passthrough, and SR-IOV.
  • Programming or scripting experience in at least one language; Python or Go is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Git, CI, and infrastructure as code.
  • Strong written and spoken English.
  • Confidence presenting to large audiences and leading hands-on workshops.
  • Ability to tailor communication to network engineers and customer executives.
  • Experience in an international, distributed company, working across time zones and cultures.
