Staff Hardware Engineer, Electrical Distribution and Wiring Harness

Lead electrical distribution and wiring harness architecture for Stack AV’s autonomous trucks. Turn vehicle requirements into validated designs ready for production.

Aprašymas

  • Own electrical distribution and wiring harness architecture, covering power distribution, grounding, circuit protection, signal integrity, and network interfaces.
  • Create and release schematics, wiring diagrams, pinouts, harness drawings, bills of materials, and installation documents with ECAD/MCAD and PLM tools.
  • Analyze wire sizing, voltage drop, current capacity, fuses, relays, connectors, terminals, and grounding for low-voltage and applicable high-voltage circuits.
  • Work with systems, electrical, mechanical, firmware, manufacturing, and supplier teams to solve integration issues and produce buildable harness designs.
  • Guide design reviews, electrical interface definition, change control, and configuration management from concept to production-intent hardware.
  • Plan and carry out harness verification and validation, including continuity, insulation, applicable hipot, network, EMI/EMC, environmental, and vehicle-level tests.
  • Contribute to engineering, manufacturing, and testing of complete autonomous vehicles and Stack’s Automated Driving System modules.

Reikalavimai

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electrical engineering technology, computer engineering, automotive engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in electrical distribution systems, wiring harnesses, automotive or commercial vehicles, aerospace, robotics, or industrial equipment; 8 or more years preferred for Staff-level scope.
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620 training or certification, SAE/AIAG credentials, Six Sigma, or comparable manufacturing and harness qualifications are advantageous.
  • Experience carrying vehicle or complex-machine harnesses from requirements and architecture through design release, prototype builds, validation, and production support.
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical distribution architecture, circuit protection, wire sizing, voltage drop, grounding, connectors and terminals, shielding, splices, routing, retention, service loops, and harness packaging.
  • Skilled with electrical schematic and harness design tools such as Capital, CATIA, Siemens NX, Zuken, AutoCAD Electrical, or comparable ECAD/MCAD and PLM systems.
  • Working knowledge of CAN/CAN FD, LIN, Automotive Ethernet, J1939, vehicle diagnostics, EMI/EMC, and relevant SAE, USCAR, IPC/WHMA-A-620, ISO 26262, and IATF 16949 practices.
  • Experience with DFM/DFA, APQP/PPAP, FMEA, supplier collaboration, and creating engineering processes in a startup or greenfield setting is preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting, systems thinking, technical documentation, and data-driven problem-solving capabilities.
  • Clear verbal and written communication, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams, suppliers, and manufacturing partners.
  • Residence, U.S. person status, and/or citizenship status may be verified to meet U.S. national security and export-control requirements.
