Senior Guidance, Navigation and Control Engineer

Develop guidance, navigation, and control algorithms, simulations, and flight software for Boeing spacecraft and hypersonic systems. Support integration and flight tests in atmospheric and space environments.

Aprašymas

  • Create and verify guidance, navigation, and control algorithms for spacecraft, re-entry vehicles, and hypersonic or airborne platforms.
  • Build and maintain six-degree-of-freedom dynamics simulations and tools to assess missions and performance.
  • Develop and validate GN&C flight software with MATLAB/Simulink models and C/C++ prototypes.
  • Connect flight software with testbeds and avionics.
  • Use astrodynamics and flight mechanics for mission design, novel orbit concepts, and trajectory optimization.
  • Apply aerodynamics, atmospheric flight mechanics, and control expertise to re-entry guidance and flight control.
  • Create powered and unpowered guidance laws and autonomy tools for orbital and atmospheric operations.
  • Help investigate operational anomalies, functional tests, and service incidents.
  • Prepare concepts of operations, simulation materials, and test procedures.
  • Help move prototypes quickly toward flight testing.
  • Work with systems engineering, avionics, test, and business development teams.
  • Explain technical tradeoffs to stakeholders.
  • Find inefficiencies and build reusable tools and automations.
  • Assist with integration and flight testing in atmospheric and space environments.

Reikalavimai

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing technology), computer science, data science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or a directly related non-U.S. equivalent.
  • At least five years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Engineering experience with aircraft, missiles, spacecraft, autonomous platforms, or similar vehicles.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB and Simulink.
  • Experience developing GN&C algorithms, models, and simulations.
  • Development experience with C/C++, Python, or C#.
  • Aerospace or aeronautical engineering degree preferred.
  • At least ten years of relevant technical experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred.
  • Active Tier 5 (T5) clearance preferred.
  • Experience with spacecraft operations, space environment effects, or hypersonic re-entry GN&C preferred.
  • Familiarity with state estimation and sensor fusion, GPS/INS, or air data systems preferred.
  • Background in classical and modern control theory and nonlinear control design preferred.
  • Model-based development and flight test support experience preferred.
  • Previous work on space or hypersonic programs preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain U.S. security clearance; U.S. Government requirements call for U.S. citizenship.
