  • Lead second-line reviews of complex or high-impact topics within TRMO or FRRO
  • Prepare independent assessments and recommendations using data, internal policies, and regulatory expectations
  • Document review conclusions formally and present findings to team leads and management
  • Contribute to thematic reviews and policy interpretation activities
  • Recommend improvements to risk oversight methodologies and tools
  • Follow applicable compliance and operational risk controls under company and regulatory standards
  • Maintain M&T’s internal control standards by addressing internal and external audit findings and applicable regulatory issues promptly
  • Foster an inclusive environment that reflects the M&T Bank brand
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Support oversight across market risk, interest-rate risk, liquidity risk, capital planning, capital calculations, resolution planning, and regulatory reporting
  • Provide subject-matter expertise in key risk oversight areas
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives or act as a contact for assigned risk domains when needed
  • Provide guidance to junior analysts on specific projects when required

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or analytical discipline such as finance, accounting, or economics with at least four years of relevant professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and at least eight years of relevant experience
  • Advanced understanding of financial principles and banking-industry regulatory and compliance matters
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a disciplined approach to processes
